    Hi.
    Windows XP generally has drivers for firewire built in. I have two different DV camcorders and XP happily accepted them without
    any problems. Try it out. You can’t damage ether the camera or PC. Also, the camera should come with a CD with software to
    work with the video material recorded on the camera.
