HOW TO TRANSFER VIDEO FROM JVC MINI DV CAMCORDER TO MY MACBOOK PRO?

I undergo i requirement a firewire cable, and i undergo the newborn macbook pros don’t hit a base firewire port. Does anyone hit a unification to where i acquire the one that module impact (6-pin or 9-pin…??)
Or if there is some another way?

    All the current generation macbook pros have a firewire 800 port (9 pins).
    All you need is the cable that should have come with your camera.
