DO YOU HAVE THE JVC EVERLO HARD DRIVE DIGITAL CAMCORDER? HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO TRANSFER THE VIDEO INTO IMOVIE
I hit a Mac and ingest iMovie and heard that transferring from the camcorder’s info into iMovie is a hassle. Would this be the aforementioned with whatever hornlike intend camcorder, or whatever abstract limited with this JVC. I was going to intend the 20 GB hornlike drive. I exclusive organisation on using it for kinsfolk videos, do you think I’d requirement a large hornlike drive?

I just got GZ-MG27U for Christmas and am VERY DISAPPOINTED with the software for Mac so far. Upon launching the application, I get an error the following error:
“A necessary library is not installed”
You can Google that error and find others are getting the same message. The software maker ( not JVC ) states that it is compatible up to Mac OS 10.3.9. If you are using Tiger (10.4.x) or planning on upgrading to Leopard (10.5 ) soon, BEWARE of JVC’s software.
I plan on calling tech support in the next few minutes when they open to ask about future development. Will update or post another msg if I get good news.
********** HERE’S THE FIX************
I just found out the answer, and you won’t believe the “fix” for it.
Apparently the Capty software installer is not very good (obviously) at installing Mac OS X software. One of the file’s permission settings are off.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Locate your “Capty MPEG Edit EX for Everio” application ( probably under Applications folder if you are organized )
2. Control-Click (or Right-click) on the application and choose “Show Package Contents”
3. Open the folder inside called “Contents”
4. Open the “MacOSClassic” folder ( why does it say Classic? I don’t know )
5. Make sure you have read/write access to every file within the folder. *** THE FILE I HAD “NO ACCESS” TO was called “PxMPG2PartialLib_carbon”
If you don’t know how to change the permissions, see Apple’s website.
As soon as the permission was fixed, I was able to run the application. I am not impressed though.
I don’t know about transferffing to a mac but I have that same one your talking about and have no problems with windows so I see why it should be any problems for mac all your doing is copying and pasting the video files to the pc as for the 20gb you can hold up to 7hrs of video it just depends on the quality settings. I always set mines to the max so I get about 2-3 hrs or high quality video. Any other question just pm me.
